Whereas planning permission allows you to carry out the development, building regulations approval is there to safeguard that the works are carried out in a structurally safe manner in accordance with building regulations currently in force.

The Town and Country Planning rules for ‘permitted development’ changed from 1st October 2008. Of particular interest is the new section E covering ‘development within the curtilage of a dwelling house’.

We highly recommend that you treat your log cabin with wood preservatives as soon as possible after it has been built. The logs will be supplied ‘natural’ and untreated so it is extremely important that you protect the wood from the elements so that it lasts for years to come.
