Wildgoose Rural Training: Phase Two

During January 2022, we started work on phase two for Wildgoose Rural Training. The new tearoom and vistor centre started taking shape which is designed to complement the education centre and encourage visitors to explore the wonderful nature reserve.

Again the log cabin was designed and built to full building regulations standard. The building measures 12 metres by 8 metres with an apex/ridge roof with heavy duty laminated shingles in Ontario green to match the existing cabin. A 3 metre canopy with a Velux roof window links the existing building to the new, providing a walkway through to the main Wildgoose site. On the opposite side, a 4 metre canopy with support posts and two Velux windows makes a super covered area for sheltered seating. Two aluminium bi-fold doors open out here providing a large versatile space to the tearoom. The main entrance is through a covered porch with double aluminium door. Sash windows allow for plenty of light and views across the site. Inside there is a 3.45m x 4m kitchen, servery with serving hatch and a separate space for accessible toilets.

The tearoom and visitor centre is due to open in April. Why not pop along and support this fantastic rural life charity.  Visit Wildgoose for more information https://www.wildgooseruraltraining.org/
