White Mills Marina: The Brew With a View

White Mills is a new purpose built marina situated on the picturesque River Nene in Northamptonshire. Located at White Mills Lock (lock 9) the family run enterprise can accommodate 141 berths – wide beams, narrow boats and cruisers and has all the facilities that you would expect from a top notch marina. In a superb spot with fabulous views, is ‘The Boathouse’. Open to boaters, cyclists, walkers and other visitors, The Boathouse houses a large open plan cafe along with showers and toilets including disabled facilities. The cafe serves a variety of refreshments including fresh food and snacks and functions and events are also held regularly.

Keops designed and built the log cabin Boathouse which measures 14 metres by 10 metres and is built to Building Regulations specification. The large open plan cafe and kitchen is light and airy thanks to three Velux roof windows and large glass doors and windows affording a fantastic view of the boating scene out front. The shower and toilet facilities are accessed through a separate entrance to the side of the cafe. The whole structure was built on a specially designed platform that raises it well above ground level in the event of flooding.
