Hi are these suitable to live all year round?

    • Paula April 17, 2018 at 8:53 am - Reply

      Hi Adam,

Yes they are suitable to live in all year round. If classed as a caravan/mobile home then we provide our comfort grade of insulation in the roof and floor and our Premium doors and windows with 24mm double glazing. You can always upgrade to a higher spec of insulation including wall insulation for extra cost if you prefer, but most of our customers are more than happy with the comfort grade. And of course, the best thing about the caravans is that they are exempt from Building Regulations control. The Northern Scandinavian pine we use is rated to last for 80 years plus if maintained properly. Once initially treated with recommended products, the treatment should last a good five years before needing a recoat.

Sorry I forgot to ask, do you have any demonstration homes ready built that I can come and have a look at? Or any videos of the inside?

You are welcome to visit us here at Evesham. We have the ‘Sandpiper’ mobile home here on site (our office). Please book an appointment if you would like to view.

    Good Afternoon,

Following from your response to the above question, I was wondering if you could please give me an idea of the additional cost of adding in wall insulation to this mobile home model.
    Many Thanks,

      Hi Simon,

To add wall insulation to the Two Bedroom Lodge/Sandpiper would be in the region of £5,500/£6,000. (Materials only, extra for fitting). If you are considering wall insulation, then you will probably be looking to increase the roof and floor insulation too, in which case take a look at the Two Bedroom Lodge Building Regs specification.

Can they be placed on a slope? How you go about a base?

    • Paula September 18, 2018 at 10:58 am - Reply

      Hi Lindy,

A slope isn’t usually a problem. We would need more information for your particular site so we can advise the best method.

Do I need planning permission to have this in my garden?

    • Paula December 5, 2018 at 10:56 am - Reply

      Hi Adam,

Planning permission is not usually needed if the caravan is to be sited within the curtilage of a garden and it’s use overspill accommodation to the home with shared services, access etc., in which case a Certificate of Lawful Development is required. Any mobile homes/caravans sited on other land or agricultural land will need full planning permission. We always recommend you seek advice from your local planning department.
