Glazing Options

Significantly strengthened.

Each log cabin has unique glazing needs. Our standard Comfort range includes 4mm single glazing, but we offer various options. Toughened glass is available for added safety, breaking into small pieces on breakage. However, it doesn't significantly strengthen the glass but reduces injury risk if someone falls into a window or door. Building regulations require toughened glass for doors, side panels, and windows below 800 mm from the floor.

Practically, double glazing might not boost insulation significantly without roof insulation. For reference, our Comfort grade 14mm double glazing has a U value of about 2.4 W/sqm K, similar to 33mm wall logs.

However, some situations may necessitate meeting building regulations or a preference for premium quality. Our Premium range offers housing-quality doors and windows designed for log cabin technology, accommodating natural movements and aligning with our cabin designs.
