I’m going to paint my new cabin with Superdec. Do I need to apply anything first or can this be applieď straight onto bare wood?

      Hi Karen,

We recommend you apply a single coat of Cuprinol or Blackfriars, or Sadolin clear wood preservative. This should be applied both internally and externally and allowed to penetrate and dry for three days before treating with weather protector products. The three day drying makes the use of these spirit based products suitable even when over-coated with water based stains such as Sadolin Superdec.

Hi I have a Sumner house that has been stained in the past but I’ve decided to paint this year. Can you please advise me if the superdec will be OK to use and what I need to do to prepare? Thanks

      Hi Rebecca,

Sadolin Superdec is just right to maintain your summerhouse. It is a high quality waterproofing woodstain (not a paint) and is available in over 300 colours. We recommend that you lightly sand the surface to prepare then apply one coat or two depending on how well it covers the existing colour/stain.

Is it ok to paint supadeck onto new timber that has just had a covering of Thompson’s water seal .

      Hi George,

The Thompson’s water seal is not compatible with Sadolin Superdec. You would need to completely remove the water seal first.
