Comfortable & Energy Efficient School Classroom
The log cabin classroom was designed by Keops to replace the existing school building which was very tired and dated. Built to building regulations standard, the cabin features Keops own insulation system and our PVC double glazed windows and doors. The result is a modern, comfortable and efficient building for the happy students.
The replacement log cabin measures 7.6m wide x 24m long and offers two large halls and a central block of offices, kitchen and toilets.
The log cabin has been constructed to meet building regulations for a commercial standard building and includes the Keops system for roof and floor insulation and the walls are the Keops cavity wall system comprising 45mm outer log, 28 mm inner log and 90 mm cavity, insulated with rigid ureathane. The two walls allow normal log cabins breathing movements to take place independently by a system of sliding bracketry.
Doors and windows are in the Keops range of golden oak wood grain effect UPVC frames and 24mm double glazed units. All doorways are sized for disabled access.
Delivery of the log cabin in component form was made during half term just six weeks from order. The construction work was estimated to take 10 days and started almost immediately. The Keops construction team phase their construction to allow other trades the opportunity to install wiring and plumbing etc. which is cleverly concealed within the insulation cavities.
Keops are grateful to Gloucester County Council Building Management for advising the schools of the suitability of a Keops log cabin for their needs. They had confidence in Keops from an earlier good experience on a 120 sq.m pre-school building in the Forest of Dean last year.
